Thursday Challenge: Experimental

Back in December I was taking pictures of our Christmas tree and started playing with taking unfocused pictures of the lights. This is my favorite. The white snowflake shaped blob is one of the snowflake lights in the window behind the tree.

In photography terms this is called bokeh.

Thursday Challenge: Spring

This pasque flower sits at the end of our front walk. I really love it's look. Unfortunately it is truly a Spring flower. It blooms for about a week and then is done until next year. In finding the link to the information about it I discovered that it's the state flower of South Dakota and the provincial flower of Manitoba. (And I think my picture is nicer than the one on the listing at wikipedia.) Another picture of it is here.

Thursday Challenge: Black and White

I'd intended to provide a link to the colored version, but just discovered that I don't have it online and since I'm "over the river and through the woods" I don't have it available to upload. Thursday Challenge: Orange

Traffic cone on the bottom of the Charles River. Taken in Waltham in September. This is near a storm drain outflow pipe. I think at some point it was intended to mark either the pipe or the shallow area surrounding it. Clearly it's not doing a very good job.

Thursday Challenge: Light

I took this at about 6am on July 25th. I love the quiet of the early morning on Rainbow Lake. This was my "official" entry for Thursday Challenge. I also considered the photo below, which I took a couple of years ago in Owl Cabin at Wakanda.

This is one of about 10 owl lights that decorate the porch of the cabin. We love them. Unfortunately the picture is a bit blurry.
