PhotoHunters: Long

Long way to Boston
The Charles River winds its way through the countryside before it reaches Boston. By car from this point it's about 20 miles. By river 36.8.

I should have pointed out that the river is nearly 70 miles long, and it starts less than 30 miles from the harbor.

that's funny...I live about 20 miles from Boston, in a northerly direction :-)

Great shot and interpretation!

Thanks for visiting!

Very cool! Although a marathoner would say that 20 miles isn't long, since a marathon is 26.2. ;)

The river might not be terribly long in the grand scheme of things, but it is certainly a long way to go a short distance.

Did you take this shot from a kayak? I think if I lived in a city with a river (or lake--like Seattle has) I would have to own a kayak.

Katney - yes this was taken from my kayak. I spend a fair amount of time exploring the Charles, and the other local rivers, in it. This time of year it's just too cold for that, though.
